Philanthropic pioneers Gary and Mary West have made a multi-million dollar, multi-year commitment to establish the West Health Policy Center in Washington, D.C. with the goal of saving more than $100 billion in cumulative health care costs within 10 years by identifying common sense changes in reimbursement and regulation that can be acted on immediately and do not require legislative action.

Fellowship Program

The West Health Policy Center is issuing a call for its competitive multi-year, multi-million dollar Fellowship Program, which aims to save more than $100 billion in health care costs within 10 years by identifying common sense opportunities for immediate action where regulations and reimbursement have not kept up with advances in low-cost technologies and solutions. The West Health Policy Center is co-hosting the Care Innovations Summit, an HCI-DC event, on January 26, 2012, in Washington, D.C. in collaboration with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the West Wireless Health Institute, and Health Affairs. The event will bring together health delivery systems, innovators, policymakers, academics and investors to catalyze the dialogue for scaling up successful solutions to lower health care costs.
